Hello, I'm Michon Shaw 

I've always loved to make connections between people, learn about cultures and build bridges. 

My Story

Michon Shaw is a professional, innovative, forward-thinking interpreter educator with a passion for developing skills of interpreting students and a creative mindset in interpreter educators. An alumna of the University of South Florida, (2006, Bachelor of Arts, ASL Interpreter Training) and the University of North Florida, (2015, Master of Science, ASL Interpreting Pedagogy), Michon, is a change agent who works tirelessly to increase the number of interpreters who are Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color.

 A noteworthy leader in the Interpreter Education field, Michon was featured on the front cover of the 2020 summer edition of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) VIEWS publication.

Michon is a nationally certified interpreter and has interpreted in a variety of settings including but not limited to: Educational, Mental Health, Religious, and Video Relay settings.

Her visionary perspective influenced her to found Interpret Educate Serve, LLC, (IES). IES provides ASL interpreting services, educational webinars, and merchandise for ASL interpreters, and is the supplier of "The Interpreter Box", a subscription box for ASL interpreters, CODA interpreters, and student interpreters.

 Michon and her husband, A. D. are the parents of three, energetic, smart, entertaining, and independent girls!
